Basics of Computer Architecture

Generally, the word architecture is a typical term used while building a house. Likewise, here, it means building a computer and all that goes into a computer system. It is a science or a set of rules detailing how computer software and hardware are joined together and interact to make a computer work. Computers are a major part of our lives because they are being used across a wide range of functionalities. As computer architects, through unique designs enable to develop new and better programs and technologies.

Similarly, in a computer it involves the interconnection of the hardware devices inside the computer and the method of data transfer while exhibiting their individual processing capabilities.

It is a science or a set of rules detailing how computer software and hardware are joined together and interact to make a computer work. Moreover, it involves the interconnection of the hardware devices inside the computer and the method of data transfer while exhibiting their processing capabilities.

The architecture in a computer follows specific methods and rules for a computer’s implementation, management, and functionality.

Understanding Architecture through the Functions of a Computer

The computer consists of an input device, such as a keyboard, to feed the data. After that, the data is sent to the memory for storage. Both the keyboard and memory constantly interact with a CPU. The CPU consists of various components, most notably the motherboard. Where the CPU takes responsibility for processing the data.

Then, after processing, the data enters the memory unit. And, finally, to the output devices such as the monitor. The architecture design of the computer is made for the smooth functioning of the computer. During computer designing, architects use a combination of various strategies, particularly for memory organization, to build high-performing computers.
