Importance of Java: An Introduction
During the early 1990’s, while working on Java projects, James Gosling named the project as “Oak”. The aim of the new project is to simplify the extensive use of C/C++ applications, while implementing a programming language and virtual machine showing much familiarity with C-like notation. The first version, Java 1.0 was first publicly introduced in the year 1995. It became popular with the tagline “Write Once, Run Anywhere”.
